My 'BlahBlahBlah'

My background includes 10 years' experience in books, magazines and online media; a bachelor's degree in English from California State University, Los Angeles; and graduate coursework in Media & Culture at University of Pennsylvania. I'm also taking Interior Design courses because I love the subject — and writing about it.

I'm a lifelong learner with a ton of interests, and my writing background shows it.

My Story

I got my first real-world taste of publishing as an assistant at a book publisher, my first 9-to-5 job after college. When I wasn't fetching office meeting snacks, rushing off to the Philadelphia Free Library or B&N for research, scouring the internet to source Mini Kit components, scheming the next Miniature Edition gift book idea or copyediting manuscripts, I daydreamed of seeing my name in consumer magazines.

It wasn't until an editorial internship at Philadelphia Magazine's Home & Garden that I tackled the challenge of writing designer profiles and writing about interior design. Initially, I was intimidated but I totally fell in love with it and parlayed it into my Number One topic to write about.

I've since made my way back to southern California, where I write full-time, with my newborn daughter Vivianna beside me, licking stamps and balancing the books.
